This is a very broad view of the meaning of ‘up to date’. This is inevitable when there is a range of needs.
More specifically information needs to be timely.
There are three scenarios where up-to-date has a clear meaning. These are where: the insurer is not yet exposed, is heavily exposed, and where manifest claims experience is as yet immature.
But all three situations can be managed the same way if probabilistic methods are used.
